Biography

Jie Yang is an assistant professor at Harvard University (Harvard Medical School) and a lead investigator at Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics (FACMI) and a Fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association (FAMIA).

His research interests focus on AI in healthcare, especially clinical natural language processing (NLP) and large language models (LLMs). He has developed popular NLP tools including NCRF++ and YEDDA, which have attracted more than 5000 stars on GitHub.

Dr. Yang serves as an associate editor at IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems (TNNLS) and npj Digital Medicine. He is a member of the Technical Advisory Group of the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Clinical Platform.
