YLab at Harvard Medical School and Mass General Brigham is recruiting one Research Specialist in AI for Healthcare.
The Research Specialist will work with Professor Jie Yang and YLab researchers on developing, evaluating, and applying advanced AI methods to real-world clinical and biomedical problems.

Responsibilities
The Research Specialist will:
- Develop and evaluate machine learning, NLP, large language model, and AI-agent systems
- Build reliable and reproducible research code and data-processing pipelines
- Conduct experiments using large-scale real-world healthcare data
- Analyze results and contribute to scientific manuscripts
- Collaborate with researchers, clinicians, data scientists, and pharmacoepidemiology experts
- Support open-source software, benchmarks, and research resources when appropriate
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- A master’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, biomedical informatics, statistics, or a related quantitative field
- Prior experience in AI, machine learning, NLP, large language models, or healthcare AI
- Strong coding skills, particularly in Python
- Experience with modern machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch
- Experience designing experiments and analyzing research results
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Experience with large language models, AI agents, clinical data, electronic health records, insurance claims, or biomedical research is preferred but not required.
