I am an assistant professor at Harvard University (Harvard Medical School), as well as an affiliated faculty at Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. My research interests are mainly focused on AI in healthcare, especially clinical natural language processing (NLP) and large language models (LLMs). I am a member of Technical Advisory Group of World Health Organization (WHO) Global Clinical Platform, and serve as an area chair of EMNLP (2021-2024) and COLING (2022,2024), SPC of AMIA 2020 annual symposium, the program committee of top-tier conferences:
ACL/AAAI/IJCAI/EMNLP/NAACL/AMIA/ICML/ICLR. I won the 2022 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) Yunfan Award, COLING Best Paper Award and ACL Best demo Paper Award Nomination at 2018, and ISTD Best Dissertation Award. I have developed several popular NLP tools: NCRF++ and YEDDA, which attracted more than 5000 stars at GitHub.
I love badminton and swimming (Silver medal in Men’s 100 metres freestyle at Chongqing University as an undergraduate).
